Children's Healthy Dental Habits

Good Habits Can Produce a Lifetime of Healthy Teeth

Encouraging proper habits early, in an atmosphere that’s relaxed and fun, creates an important foundation for a lifetime of strong oral health. Children’s teeth can be prone to cavities at a young age for many reasons. For example, children are not proficient at brushing well on their own. Because of this, it is essential for parents to be part of their child’s daily dental routine. This assists with both thorough cleaning and the development of correct dental habits. Little kids like to eat more frequently during the day (grazing). This causes a more extended exposure to acid (every time you eat you produce acid), which may trigger more cavities.

A tooth that is not as clean as it should be will cause continuous acid production. This acid often increases the development of cavities. The good news is that spotting poor dietary and hygiene habits early, along with using a fluoride varnish to the mineralizing teeth, can radically reduce the chances of your child incurring a cavity.
